About us

Local Sri Lanka Tours is a guide and trip-planning site for people visiting Sri Lanka for the first time.

Most travel content about Sri Lanka is either brochure copy or written after a two-week visit. We wanted something different: guides written with people who live here, that tell you honestly what is worth your time, what is overrated and what most visitors get wrong.

What we do

  • We write free, honest guides to cities, experiences and the practical side of travelling in Sri Lanka.
  • We connect you with local experts: Sri Lankan travel agencies, drivers and guides we work with, who plan and run your trip.
  • You deal with them directly. You agree the plan and pay the local operator, not us.

How we make money

Planning help is free for you. When a trip is booked, the local partner pays us a referral commission. We believe in being upfront about this. TODO: verify this description matches the commission arrangement before launch.
